The Dzukou Valley trip is an enchanting adventure that takes you to the picturesque Dzukou Valley, nestled on the border of Nagaland and Manipur in Northeast India. Known for its pristine beauty, the valley offers a surreal experience with its rolling hills, lush forests, and vibrant flowers.
The trip typically starts from Dimapur, the major city of Nagaland, from where we'll drive to Kisama Village Homestay. From there next morning, you'll embark on a moderate trek to reach the Dzukou Valley base camp, situated at an elevation of around 2,438 meters (8,000 feet).

Here is the Day-wise itinerary for the Dzukou Valley Trek & Kohima City Tour
Day 1: (Stay at Kisama Homestay)
- Morning: Arrive in Dimapur, the nearest major city with an airport and railway station. Our vehicle will pick you up from Dimapur. If you are preferring Local Transport, you can also take it by your own. Then proceed to Kisama Homestay, a heritage village of Nagaland. This journey can be completed by road only, which takes around 3-4 hours.
- Afternoon: Check into your accommodation. Take some time to explore the village and walk around.
- Evening: Take rest and enjoy the beautiful views from the homestay, and dinner offered by the host.

Attend the Hornbill Festival (held annually in December) if it coincides with your visit. This festival showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Naga tribes through traditional music, dance, food, and crafts.
Day 2: (Stay at Dzukou Valley)
- Morning: Depart from Homestay and drive to Viswema Village, the starting point of the Dzukou Valley Trek. It takes approximately 3omins to reach Viswema from Kisama Homestay.
- Trek to Base Camp: Begin your trek to the Dzukou Valley base camp, which is located at an elevation of around 2,438 meters (8,000 feet). The trail passes through lush forests and offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The trek usually takes around 3-4 hours.
- Evening: Set up camp at the base camp and enjoy a warm bonfire amidst the serene surroundings. Relax and soak in the tranquility of the valley.
Day 3: (Stay at Dzukou Valley)
- Morning: Wake up early to witness the mesmerizing sunrise over the Dzukou Valley. Enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee and take in the breathtaking views of the valley blanketed with blooming flowers (in the spring season) or snow (during winter).
- Explore Dzukou Valley: Spend the day exploring the enchanting Dzukou Valley. Trek through the valley, crossing streams and meandering paths. Marvel at the vibrant flowers, cascading waterfalls, and the unique rock formations that dot the landscape.
- Evening: Return to the base camp and relax in the peaceful ambiance of the valley. Enjoy a delicious dinner and bond with fellow trekkers around the campfire.
Day 4: (Stay at Kohima)
- Morning: After breakfast, bid farewell to Dzukou Valley and begin your descent back to Kisama Village. The trek downhill takes around 2-3 hours.
- Return to Kohima: Reach Kisama Village and board on our vehicle to return to Kohima. Once in Kohima, you can rest, freshen up, and explore the local markets to buy souvenirs or traditional Naga handicrafts.
- Evening: Enjoy a sumptuous dinner at a local restaurant in Kohima, savoring the flavors of Naga cuisine.
Day 5:
- Departure: Check out from your accommodation in Kohima and proceed to Dimapur for your onward journey. If time permits, you can visit the Kachari Ruins in Dimapur, which is an archaeological site featuring ancient temple ruins.
- Bid farewell to Nagaland as you depart from Dimapur and head back home with unforgettable memories of your Dzukou Valley Trek.
